Tired of signing off your correspondence in the same old way?  Bored with typical greetings such as “Sincerely” or “Best?”  Below is a list of salutations I found on the internet, some familiar, some unfamiliar, with which you can spice up your correspondence.  Feeling obsequious?  Haughty?  Enigmatic?  There are examples below to fit your mood.  (Note that some of the following may be unsuitable for business correspondence.  Please choose responsibly.)

FOREIGN SALUTATIONS:

Vive la revolution!

Diolch yn fawr (Welsh for “thanks”)

Yn bur (Welsh for “yours sincerely”)

Sliante (Scots Gaelic for “goodbye”)

Slan (Irish Gaelic for “goodbye”)

Aishiteru (Japanese literal translation of “I love you”)

Con queso (Spanish for “with cheese”)

ONE WORD GREETINGS:

Cheers

Revel

Savor

Rejoice

Relish

Chill

Goodbye

Later

Peace

Ciao

LONGER PHRASES:

You rock

Rock on

Have fun

Live it up

Shine on

Dig it

Sin till we meet again

Have a blast

Get your freak on

Kindest personal regards

I rule you

May the Force be with you

Until next time

Thanks for having pity on me last night

Only you can prevent forest fires

May the seed of your loin be fruitful in the belly of your woman

You’re not welcome here any more

At Your Service

Your obedient servant (used by George Washington to his favorite subordinates)

Keep on rockin’ in the free world

Smoke ’em if you got ’em

You are the weakest link

MY PERSONAL FAVORITES:

May I always live to serve you and your crown

Keep your stick on the ice.  (Apparently in hockey this is the first thing you’re taught to do while playing the game.)
